Hikayat Hang Tuah

Hikayat Hang Tuah as a Malay literary classic and a traditional Malay epic. This story is now proud to generations of Malays. It is recognized as the national literary classic which is well known not only for the Malays, but the people of the Malay Archipelago. Several studies have been performed in this manuscript to the local and foreign researchers.

Hang Tuah is characterized as the most illustrious Malay hero in Malacca and represented absolute loyalty to the sovereign as the ultimate winner is the Malay loyalty, courtesy and obedience to tradition. Hikayat Hang Tuah symbolizes the magnitude of Malacca at that time, while projecting the courage to Malays.

The National Library of Malaysia held in two manuscripts of Hikayat Hang Tuah, the identification number MSS 1658 and MSS to 1713. The manuscripts were written 200 years of European paper. Cue a statement clearly lacking, as is usually the tradition of Malay manuscripts. To this day, the author of the Hikayat, remains unknown. The manuscripts are preserved in an acid-free boxes and the vault, with the aim of the standards adopted for the protection requirements.
